Ready for Unity3D
About 10 years ago, I won The Lion King Soundtrack from a cereal box competition. It is about that time of the decade again for me to get lucky in another competition. Earlier this month, I entered a competition on LinkedIn, held by Packt Publishing for the chance to win their new e-book/book; Unity 3.x Game Development Essentials with C# and Javascript. Good news, I have won an e-book copy!
Information about the book is provided on Packt’s website (www.packtpub.com), including a sample chapter. I look forward to learning the essentials of Unity3D, and I will provide a review of the book in the near future.

Personalised pen
I ordered a pen printed via Vista Print. The pen looks good for its cheap price, and it writes smoothly!

Last night’s IGDA Sydney Bits & Pieces
October’s IGDA Sydney Bits & Pieces event took place yesterday at the Arthouse Hotel, Pitt Street. Epona Schweer from AIE Sydney, hosted the event. It was great to see a variety of games during the development stage. Developers were making games for Nintendo Wii, PC and Android smart phones. I played some of the games that were set up around the room, and shared my opinions and feedback. The developers were friendly and happy to chat with me.
I personally found the event to be a great inspiration. The game developers whom I spoke with, were using Unity3D with C#, and UDK was also mentioned. I previously become interested in the programming side of game, as I learnt a bit of ActionScript 3.0. Recently, I have been considering to enrol in a game programming course. Last night’s event has further motivated me towards doing such a course.
